Hair and other Stuff

As I was combing out Mitike's hair the other day - I found she loves to sit on the counter and look at herself in the mirror..just like Tenaye did...so as she was so content sitting there I took the opportunity to try her first hair do :)

The kids all had a good laugh over her new hair do :) Mitike seems to like it!

More on the hair front..I finally figured out how to Corn row!!! I have decided that part of my problem was Tenaye's hair ..LOL...Miheret's hair is much thicker and despite being much sorter than Tenaye's was super easy to corn row....I am still quite slow at it..and did have to redo a couple of them a few times but the last 4 went quicker, and with only one attempt. Miheret was a tropper and sat so still while I worked on her hair. She was just soo excited to have her hair braided. She has been asking for braids since we got home and she has been seeing me braid and bead Tenaye's hair..so I have to say I have really happy little girl today!

And last but not least, for Auntie Jan....you may have recognized what Miheret is wearing in her hair pictures above...the girls absolutely LOVE the 'dancing' dresses you sent! They have basically worn nothing but the dresses since they arrived! They both say a big THANK YOU!!!

Mitike Turns 1!

It's hard to believe that Mitike had her first birthday today! The kids were all sooo excited for her birthday (or was it for the cake that they knew was coming after supper!?!)

Look Mom All gone! (No she didn't eat all of it ..most of it ended up on her highchair, her dress, the floor (dogs are thankful for that ) up her nose, under her armpit..and other places that I have NO idea how the cake made it's way there!

It was a great birthday...Fun was had by all! I'll try to put some video up soon...we were in tears laughing at Mitike eating her cake...it was just way tooo funny...(I took over 60 pictures of her eating her cake alone...gotta love digital cameras..but I'll spare you looking at every single one :) )
